Parent consultations are one-on-one meetings designed to discuss your child or teen’s unique learning needs for ADHD, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and dyslexia.
During consultations, we work collaboratively to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, individual needs, and goals.
Goals for the consultation meeting may include:
- Options for classroom accommodations or modifications and how they can support learning
- Clarification about an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) or 504 plan
- Education on how to work with your teacher and preview assignments for school
- Resources and tools you can use to help your child at home
- Strategies for helping your child stay engaged and motivated in their schoolwork
- Education on how to support your child with their organization, spelling test words, or multiplication facts
- A detailed discussion about your child’s learning strengths, needs, and challenges
- A review of work samples and testing
Consultations can be a single meeting or extend to multiple meetings depending on the goals.
